Film Views and Reviews

I like movies thats a fact, but ive been increasingly getting really hard to please. Maybe its a sign of me becoming cynical (cine-cal, this my friend is a pun, a very disgusting one at that) or maybe this will come to a point where ill be so fed up with crappy movies that i will become a movie director myself (and make crappy movies myself); speaking of movies here are recent ones ive seen and with complimentOrlandobloomary comments;

Red Eye - the villain shouldve been another guy, one that was disarmingly charming, the guy in this one was evil looking no matter the illusion of being nice they were trying to do one the early part, the villain was very weak, it wouldve made the world of difference were he was much more cunning and not so inept.    4/10

Kingdom of Heaven - MISCAST, i liked Legolas but Orlando Bloom better have another day job, his facial expression is so limited and the way he speaks should make him forever stuck in supporting roles but sadly thats not the case, he dragged this movie into mediocrity and into the annals of WTF casting moves. imagine if it was Eric Bana or Clive Owen. WTF indeed! 3/10

Perfect Catch - romatic comedies, after being dragged by the lady (i wanted to see Constant Gardener) i find myself watching a well made chick flick, but far from perfect. The obligatory lover’s conflict was never really that major to warrant a breakup, i understood the point but the film didnt really made a home run (ha! another pun) with it. And this is a complaint that i generally associate with romantic comedies, the characters are always so endearing and good looking (Drew B. youre so sexy) and the relationship so utopian that i find myself suspending my beliefs because real-life relationships are anything but that, i always find pleasure on movies that has scenes that ring truer to real-life (Sunshine of the spotless mind, almost famous). 7/10

im starting to NOT making any sense. :)

    after being dragged by the lady? who? anyway, i don’t agree with what you said about the characters’ conflict not being enough to warrant a breakup. i don’t think so. you see, in some relationships, people don’t want their boyfriends or girlfriends to do their “duties” or “obligations”. this is after all, not a job or career. you don’t have a boss to feel obligated to. besides, what you’re doing or should be doing must come from the heart. you must like what you do or better love what you do. every move you make should be because you want to be with him/her. you should not do things you don’t really like because believe me, your bf/gf would feel that. after all, who wants to go out with someone who feels obliged? better break up and find someone else… :p
